Farkles!

Nearly everyone who rides a motorcycle likes to dress it up a bit. I'm no exception.

My ride is a 2001 BMW F650GS. It's a relatively small dual-sport bike that has proven to be versatile, reliable, efficient, and a hell of a lot of fun. From cruising the interstates to tearing down snowmobile trails, this machine has never let me down.

I believe in rewarding such splendid service, so I've added a few bits and pieces to the bike over the years.

  • Fork Upgrade - Coming soon!
  • Autocom Duo Plus communication system. Between missing telephone calls, hours-long freeway rides, and riding 2-up, I've found this to be a really useful accessory. Here's how I installed it.
  • Fabbing a custom auxiliary light bar for the F650GS Hella Optilux driving lights for 20 bucks? Well, I had to buy 'em. Now to go about installing them...
  • LED replacement bulbs for console. Medler did this. It's GREAT. I did the job myself on August 18, 2007 and am documenting it now.
  • Hardwiring GPS power.
